Under this motto, the Swiss Climate Foundation has been supporting projects from small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) since 2009 that contribute to climate protection in Switzerland and Liechtenstein through innovation. The foundation is recognized as non-profit and is supervised by the federal government. It originated from an initiative of the private sector.
The partner companies of the Swiss Climate Foundation, which receive more money back from the redistribution of the CO2 steering levy on fuels than they have paid in the form of this tax, voluntarily pass on these funds out of conviction.
The foundation board of the Swiss Climate Foundation oversees the foundation, decides on strategies and funding, reviews support applications from SMEs, and represents the foundation externally.
